81Kenneth Kazuyuki "Cannonball" Kawate, 87, of Pearl City, a retired Leilehua High School teacher and Army veteran who served in World War II with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, Headquarters Company, 522nd Field Artillery Battalion, died. He was born in Hanapepe, Kauai. He is survived by son Michael K., daughter Susan L. Yadao and three grandchildren. Services: 6 p.m. Thursday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Call after 5 p.m. Casual attire.
