78Gene Wesley Sampley, 78, of Ocean View, Hawaii, a mason, died at home. He was born in Amarillo, Texas. He is survived by companion Kathleen Berghoeffer; sons David, Kenneth and Thomas; daughters Debra Schluter, Alice Sellers and Nancy Sampley; stepson David Keith; stepdaughter Betty Fletcher; numerous hanai children; sister Linda Simpson-Harjo; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Saturday at Kahuku Park, Keaka Parkway Circle in Ocean View. Casual attire. No flowers.
