Age 70, of Pearl City, Hawaii, passed away June 27, 2010 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Born March 15, 1940 in Paia, Maui. A 50 year employee at Sheraton Waikiki; and a five time cancer survivor; Susan smiled her way through all those years of adversity. Her dedication and perseverance was clearly evident.

She is survived by husband, Edward S. Oshiro; daughter, Tracy (Paxton) Higa; son, Craig (Robyn) Oshiro; brothers, Harry (Toshi) Suzuki, Edward Suzuki, Ray (Terri) Suzuki; sister, Doris (Henry) Uchida; 2 grandchildren, Kristen Yamamoto (BJ Chong), Katelyn Oshiro.

Marlene K. Burgess of Kahului, Maui died June 23, 2010, at Maui Memorial Medical Center at age 48. Born on June 5, 1962, she was the program executive director for the Office of Economic Development on Maui.

Preceded in death by parents James K.A. and Lorraine K. Burgess, she is survived by her companion Thomas Hussey; brothers Milton (Judy) Burgess, James (Glennie) Burgess and Kimo (Josephine Okuno) Burgess and sister Faith (Frank Cummings) Burgess.

Visitation over urn at 10 am on Saturday August 7, 2010 at Kapaa First Hawaiian Church with service at 11am. The family requests casual attire.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 95 Mahalani St. #217, Wailuku, HI 96793-2587.

Age 84 of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away June 17, 2010 in Seattle, Washington. Born November 14, 1925 on Oahu, Hawaii. Eloise was a devoted mother and will be dearly missed by her family.

She is survived by her sons Frank (Shelley) Yano, Vince Yano, Mike Yano, Tom (Tess) Yano, Greg (Robin Rice) Yano, Robert Yano; and her daughters Therese Yano, Katherine (Richard Aries) Yano, Clare Omid-Zohoor, JoanMarie (Dave) Hughes; 19 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; brothers Thomas “T” Takiguchi, Walter Takiguchi, Raymond Takiguchi, and Herbert (May) Takiguchi; sisters Elsie (Billy) Suda, Jean Burgess, Betty Kiesel, Lily (Hiroo) Nakao.
