80Shigeo Robert Nitta Sr., 82, of Lahaina, a retired Hawaiian Dredging carpenter, died at home. He was born in Paia, Maui. He is survived by sons Rodney, Roger, Robert and Regan; daughters Roberta Kamakawiwoole, Lori Garoutte, Noella Iwahashi and Norine Matsumura; brothers Masaru and Ray Nitta, and Yoshino Okazaki; sisters Mildred Tsukuda, Mary Wakamatsu and Ethel Okabe; 24 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Monday at Maria Lanakila Catholic Church, Lahaina. Mass: 11 a.m. Burial: 1 p.m. at Maui Veterans Cemetery. Reception to follow at Laniuopoko Beach Park.
