John Aukai "Uncle Joe" Kekawa Sr., 92, of Waimanalo, a retired city refuse department employee, died in Convalescent Center of Honolulu. He was born in Wailuku. He is survived by sons John A. Jr., Bill K. II and William K.; daughters Mew L. Taylor, Jan Palmer and Miriam "Lily" and Juliana Kekawa; brothers Herman Lowe and Lincoln Chang; stepmother Katherine H. Lowe; stepbrother Eugene Lowe; stepsisters Barbara Goree, Katherine DiPrima, Anna Pineda and Yvonne Hernandez; 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Friday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waimanalo Ward. Services: 10 a.m. Committal services: 1 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe. Aloha attire.
