KAHU SAM SAFFERY, JR.

Age 99,of Honolulu, passed away August 12, 2010 at his residence. Born August 3, 1911 in Honolulu. Retired after 30 years from the Parks & Recreation Dept. and Kahu from the Liliuokalani Protestant Church.

He is survived by sons, Samuel “Buddy” Saffery III, Jon”Toby” (Rita) Macy-Saffery of Hawaii; hanai-daughter, Ruth Leong Benoit; brothers, Milton (Blossom) Saffery, William Sanford; sisters, Sarah Bell, Kuualoha Callanan, Georgia Kay, Kuulei (Robert) McClung, Lehua (John) Nuuhiwa; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday (8/26) at Mililani Downtown Mortuary, Memorial Services 10:00 a.m. Aloha Attire. Flowers Welcome.
