Paul Julius Heinberg, 85, of Honolulu, a retired University of Hawaii-Manoa communications professor, Air Force veteran and Purple Heart recipient, died in Hale Ola Kino. He also was founder of the Hawaii chapter of American Ex-Prisoners of War. He was born in Birmingham, Ala. He is survived by wife Joyce, daughter Julie Anson, brother Milton and a grandchild. Services: 12:30 p.m. Friday at Temple Emanu-El. Committal services: 3 p.m. at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. No flowers. Donations suggested to Temple Emanu-El or Hale Ola Kino.
