Robert Earl "Bobby" Cooper, 79, of Hilo, a former W.H. Shipman Ltd. chief executive officer, Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce past president and Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War, died at home. He was born in Portland, Ore. He is survived by wife Janet; son Eric; daughters Peggy Monroe, and Beth and Robin Cooper; stepsons Neil, Don and Owen Hall; stepdaughters Carolyn Moss and Colleen Hall; sister Joan Kaaua; and eight grandchildren. Visitation: noon Sept. 11 at Hilo Methodist Church. Services: 2 p.m. Gathering: 1 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Hilo Bayfront by the Kamehameha Canoe Club Halau. Scattering of ashes: 2 p.m. Aloha attire. Donations suggested to the Peanut Butter Ministry or Hospice of Hilo.
