Age 82, of Kapaau, Hawaii, passed away August 31, 2010 in Kapaau, Hawaii. Born April 14, 1928 in Puunene, Maui, Hawaii. She was a retired housekeeper of Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel.

She is survived by husband, Abundio Bohol of Kapaau; sons, Diosdado (Alma) Jordan of Waikoloa, Hercules (Ailene) Jordan; daughters, Maxima (John) Roach, Judith (Richie) Salter of Nantucket, MA, Jocelyn Trayler; 13 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

DOLORES LIN DAI KAU

Dolores Lin Dai Kau passed away peacefully at Hi’olani Care Center at Kahala Nui on August 28, 2010. She was born in Honolulu on August 30, 1923, the 5th of 11 children of Annie and Abraham (Chey) Lau. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Louis K. Kau. Together, they were a wonderful team as their love for each other radiated to all who came into contact with them. She was a retired Hawaii State Corrections Officer and Emeritus Director of Aloha Festivals. Dolores loved to sing and dance to all kinds of music, especially Hawaiian Music. Dolores spent her last few years enjoying her family and traveling to the mainland to visit with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, and helping friends and family. Always a loving and supportive mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and a devout Catholic, Dolores prayed daily for her entire family. Family and friends could always count on her prayers to help them in their time of need. She is survived by children, Virginia (Robert) Hee, Louis (Kathleen) Kau, Claire (Alvin) Ho, Catherine (Lowell) Chun-Hoon, hanai daughter Gail Martin, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 5 hanai grandchildren, hanai great and great great grandchildren; sisters, Edith Leong, Eleanor Park, Lorraine (Alfred) Lee, Patricia Lee; brother, Milton (Wah Lan) Lau; cousins, Sylvia Lee, Nelson Liu, Muriel Ramos; sisters-in-law, Alice Lau and Annabelle Pa; many nieces and nephews. RICHARD B. RODRIGUES was born on March 23, 1932 in Honolulu, Hawaii and passed away on August 20, 2010.

He was a former residence of Pauoa Valley from 1936-1954. Graduated from McKinley High School, class of 1950. Served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951-1953 receiving an Honorable Discharge. He was employed by the United States Post Office from 1956-1992. In his early career he served as President for the Kailua Post Office, local 5918, also as President for the Hawaii State Federation of Postal Clerks SFL-CIO-1967-1968. While employed by the Postal Service, he held the following positions: Letter Carrier, Window Distribution Clerk, Ad- hoc Hearing Officer/Investigator, Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist, EEO Counselor, Affirmative Action Program Coordinator, Hispanic and Women’s Program Coordinator. Member of Lodge Le Progres De L’ Oceanie F&AM, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, SJ., U.S.A. Aloha Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Honolulu, also was a member of the Provost Guard Unit.

He is survived by wife, Winifred W. Rodrigues, stepchildren, Christine (Robert) Takushi, Paula Ann Ching, Valerie (Marvin) Buenconsejo, Tracie (Michael) Ryan, Clayton and Clifton Ching, 7 Grandchildren, 9 Great-grandchildren and hanai sister Maxine Kahaulelio.
