Jonathan Kahinu Kawai, 67, of Kaneohe, a retired state Department of Education and Hawaii Baptist Academy school counselor, died in Honolulu. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Anne "Nancy"; sons Sean and Dallas "Kekoa"; daughters Maile Sliger and Tara Kahahawai; brothers Lemuel Aweau, and James III, Leighton and Vaughn Kawai; sister Blossom Atkins; and eight grandchildren. Visitation: 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Services: 6:30 p.m. Aloha attire.
