Violet Lee Maunu, 84, of Honolulu, a retired teacher's aide, died in Straub Clinic & Hospital. She was born in North Kohala, Hawaii. She is survived by son Melvin K.Y.F.; Marilyn K.Y.K. Castro, Carolyn H. Maunu-Hendrix, Sharolyn P. Maunu; brothers Francis, Lawrence, Ernest and Herbert Lee; sisters Ellen Ching and Evelyn Char; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Thursday at Borthwick Mortuary. Services: 10:30 a.m. Burial: 2 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe. Aloha attire.
