Sept. 23, 2010 Richard Richardson Kumailani Mahi Sr., 84, of Waikoloa, Hawaii, a retired Hamakua Sugar Co. welder, Safeguard Security officer and Army veteran, died at home. He was born in Wailuku. He is survived by wife Ethel; sons Dicky, Marshall, John, Keli'i and Ricky; daughters Lani-Ann Ferreira, Lani Dano, Gayle Gacayan, Terry De Vera, Ku'ulei Mahi and Candace Alnas; brother John Jr.; sisters Rebecca Min, Rose Victorino, Anna Andrade, Wainani Fudala and Margaret Clark; 20 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. Friday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo. Services: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2, 110 Laimana St., Hilo. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
