GERALD "GERRY" KOICHIRO NAKATA
Age 74. Passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of November 1, 2010 at his home in the Seattle area. Gerry was the first son of three sons born to Hanako and Say Nakata. Gerry was born and raised in Honolulu Hawaii and graduated high school from Mid-Pacific Institute in Honolulu. After earning a degree in Business Administration at the University of Washington, he returned home to Honolulu and worked for Occidental Insurance Company.
He married Kathy Takeuchi and had three sons, Nelson, Arthur and Ryan. He moved to Seattle and started a career in real estate management. Gerry was always known to enjoy life both at work and at play. After retirement, Gerry and Kathy enjoyed traveling to many places around the world. He looked forward to his daily "good night" phone calls from his precious grandchildren. He very much appreciated the many phone calls and visits from family and friends around the world.
Gerry is survived by his wife Kathy, sons Nelson (Andrea), Arthur (Kim) and Ryan (Stacy); his grandchildren Mari, Jarrid, Hana, Ichiro, Miya, Emi and Kimi; his brothers, Ronald (Jessie), Patrick (Jeanette) and numerous nephews and nieces.
Gerry would like to thank the staff at Group Health and the Group Health Hospice Care for their great care and kindness over the years. His wishes were for a private service for the immediate family.
