Richard Kualii “Skin” Kamau Sr., 74, of Hilo, a former supervisor at D&M Hydraulic Sales & Service, proprietor of Kamau’s Hose & Service and a former employee in the hose department of Hilo Motors, died in Life Care Center of Hilo. He also was business agent for the International Longshore and Warehouse Union. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by sons Richard Jr. and Bob; daughter Robin Mattos; stepsons Donald Haumea and Brian Kamau; brother Alexander “Bull”; sisters Mary Fragas, Penny Apaka, Lei Pae and Margie Lerch; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo. Mass: 10 a.m. Casual attire.
