Joseph Keoho "Akule Joe" Bryant, 69, of Hawaii Kai, a commercial fisherman, died in Honolulu. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Sarah; sons Paul, Kelley, William "Willie," Joshua and Israel; daughters Mary Ellen "Melon" Malabey, Sarah Caspino, Yolanda Bryant and Hokulani Logotaeao; brothers Charles, James "Pua," Calvin and John Bryant, and Herbert "Bobo" Paku; sisters Esther Gilman, Jeanette Medeiros and Ellen "Baby Ellen" Bryant; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation: 10 a.m. Saturday at Star of the Sea Church. Services: 11:30 a.m. Burial: 2:15 p.m. at Diamond Head Memorial Park.
