Gilbert “Whitey” Freitas, 89, of Honolulu, a retired Pearl Harbor Public Works Center rigger, Kewalo Terrace resident manager and an Army veteran who served during World War II, died. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son Bruce B., daughters Charlene “Shy” Brokofsky and Cynthia “Cindy” Freitas, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation: 6 p.m. Tuesday at Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary, east chapel. Services: 7 p.m. Additional visitation: 9 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart. Mass: 9:45 a.m. Burial: 11:30 a.m. at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. Aloha attire.
