Arata Chinen, also known as "Slim" and "Shin," 84, of Honolulu, a retired Dole Co. employee and an Army veteran, died in Honolulu. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by sisters Sachiko Ishihara and Toshiko Lee. Committal services: 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. A casual gathering with lunch and talk story to follow at Arata Chinen's home.
