ELIZABETH (BETTY) ARNOTT

89 years of age, passed away on December 29, 2010 in Springfield, Oregon. A long-time resident of Manoa Valley, Betty was active in Malama O Manoa as well as other civic organizations. Betty was born in Aberdeen, Scotland and moved to Honoapu, Hawaii as a three year old. She graduated from Hilo High School. During the war she worked a phlebotomist at Honolulu Medical Group. She also worked for HMSA, and for Central Union Church. Betty’s husband, Robertson preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Kay Hilsenkopf, Bob Arnott, Tom Arnott, and Susan Manson and seven grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held. He is survived by son, Roland Roberto Ibous; companion, Blanca Larson; sisters, Clarita “Clair” Amante of Anaheim, CA, Lolita “Linda” Reynon, Donna (Richard) Nieves of San Marcos, CA; nieces and nephews.

SUMIKO Y. KIKILOI

90 yrs. old, passed away peacefully at home in Mililani on Jan. 22, 2011. She was born in Haiku, Maui on June 12, 1920 and was a long time resident of Hassinger St. in Makiki. She retired from Horimoto Fish Market. Bristol Hospice helped with her care at home, and she loved the team that was assigned to her.

Preceded in death by her husband, Samuel and son, Clarence, Mrs. Kikiloi is survived by children: Edwin (Shirley Hattori) Kikiloi, Jerry (Geraldine Smaldone) Kikiloi and Violet A. Kikiloi; grandchildren, Kerri (Scott) Boissoneault, Scott aka Kekuewa (Punahele) Kikiloi, Kortney (Kerry) Borthwick & Shaun K. Kikiloi; great-granddaughters, Kayla and Josie Borthwick; hanai sons, Neil (Shannon) Kinoshita and Gordon (Joyce) Teraoka; hanai grandchildren, Shanel and Nelia Kinoshita; Brandi and Brandon Lopez. She is also survived by siblings, Koichi (Edythe) Yoshihara, Isami (Jean) Yoshihara & Elaine (Bob) Lawrence of KY; sister-in-law, Misao Yoshihara; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
