Edward Fubito Hirai, 77, of Mililani, a retired state Department of Education teacher at Lihikai Elementary School on Maui and an Army veteran, died. He was born in Makawao, Maui. He is survived by wife Theodine T., son Curtis A., daughter Candice A. Hikiji, brothers Jerry H. and Wallace A., sisters Evelyn Sano and Lillian Kimura, and a grandchild. Visitation: 5 p.m. Monday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Services: 6 p.m. Additional services: 5 p.m. Feb. 19 at Makawao Hongwanji, Maui. Casual attire. No flowers.
