Sampson K. Kaawa Sr., 68, of Waianae, a retired Oahu Transit Services TheBus driver, died in Waianae. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Annie; sons Sampson Jr., James and Malcolm; daughters Bernadine McShane, Belinda Palakiko and Sherldeen Silva; stepsons Carlson and Charles Yacapin; stepdaughter Cheryl Yacapin; hanai son Robert Yacapin; hanai daughter Charrel Yacapin; brothers Delbert, Albert, George and Aaron; sisters Eloise Goshert, Miriam Gutowski, Isabella Kaawa, Mary-Jean Kepaa and Ruth Harper; 19 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5:30 p.m. Friday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Services: 6:30 p.m. Aloha attire. Flowers welcome.
