EDWARD R. AOTANI
83, of Honolulu, died at Queens Medical Center on February 11, 2011. He was born in Honolulu to Gendayu and Tami Aotani. Ed graduated from Kaimuki High School and then later from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Architecture. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a 1st Lieutenant. In 1958, he opened his architectural practice, Aotani & Associates. Ed was a recipient of the state’s first Hawaiian Architectural Arts Award sponsored by the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, for the Keahole Airport. During his career, he served as the president of the A.I.A, Hawaii Chapter and the Hawaii Historic Preservation Society, and he also served as Chairman of the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation.

In 2004, his painting was selected for the Artists of Hawaii exhibit, sponsored by the Honolulu Academy of Arts, where he won the Alfred Price Memorial Award for Visual Arts.

He is survived by his wife Ethel, son Dean Aotani, daughter Dawn
Aotani, two grandchildren and his sister Jean Kami.

62. Glenn was born in Kakaako on May 3, 1948 to parents Fukumi & Takeno Tsutsui (deceased). He had recently moved from Hawaii to Hacienda Heights, CA where he passed away on Feb. 3, 2011. Glenn proudly served in the US Army from Feb. 1968 to Jan. 1971, he was also a former employee of Nissan Motors of Honolulu.

He is survived by brothers Harry S. (deceased) & May Tsutsui, Charles Y. & Caryl Tsutsui, Ronald T. & Barbara Tsutsui, sisters Ellen Matsumoto, Ethel & Herbet Tamashiro, Mildred Goble and many neices and nephews.
