66, of Honolulu died Feb 9th. Ames is survived by his loving Ohana, his cousins in Minnesota & California, and his I.A.T.S.E. Union brothers.

Ames grew up from small kid time through high school attending Punahou. He spent many early adult years volunteering in Community Theatre; it was then he caught the theatre bug. He joined the union after years of working in rock ‘n roll, movies, and corporate theater where he became a permanent fixture at the Hawaii Opera Theatre, lighting the world of the performers.

In 1983 he married Patti Coons. They spent the last several years traveling. His favorite experience: full day tour of the Sydney Opera House. His best-loved place in Hawaii was watching the gentle rain from the porch of their home in Volcano on the Big Island.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation in memory of Ames Scott to the Hawaii Opera Theatre, 848 South Beretania St., #303 Honolulu Hi 96813.
