JAMES "JIMMY" ORNELLAS
Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary Mauka Chapel JAMES "JIMMY" ORNELLAS Age 75, of Mililani, Hawaii, passed away February 17, 2011 in Mililani. Born November 29, 1935 in Honolulu. He was a retired Federal fire fighter and US Army veteran. A devout Catholic, he was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus and shared his faith as an eucharistic minister volunteering his time at Halawa Correctional Facility and Tripler Army Medical Center. His late father, Frank, was a railroad engineer, and Jimmy spent a lifetime admiring trains and locomotives and was an active member in the Hawaiian Railway Society. A friendly and generous man, his favorite pastimes included playing ukulele, talking story with his wala'au club, and spending time with his children and his precious granddaughter, Emma. He is survived by his first daughter, Monica Ornellas, and her husband, Michael Baron; second daughter, Natalie Ornellas, and her husband, Dennis Castro; his son, Michael Ornellas, and his wife, Cynthia Sachs; his granddaughter, Emma Baron; and former wife, Nancy Ornellas. Visitation 5:30 p.m. Monday (February 28) at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel; Memorial Service 6:30 p.m. Aloha Attire. Flowers Welcome.
