80George Albert Tavares Sr., 85, of Wailuku, a retired investor, died at home. He was born in Hawaii. He is survived by companion Louise Ruiz; former wife Helen; sons George Jr., Clyde and Paul; daughters Sharon Tran, Helen Ann Daniels and Paulette Tavares; stepson Frankie Ruiz; stepdaughter Roxanne Ruiz; brothers Kenneth and Joey; sisters Hilda Long, Harriette Takitani, Irene Wilson, Annette Tavares, Bertha Sugimoto and Margaret Fukumoto; and numerous grand- children and great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Sunday at Ballard Family Mortuary. Services: 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
