Rodney John "Rocket Rod" Romanak, 64, of Kailua-Kona, a retired air traffic controller at Keahole Kona Airport Tower and owner of Rocket Suds Homebrewing Equipment & Supplies, died at home. He also was an Air Force veteran. He was born in Bridgeport, Conn. He is survived by wife Cheryl, sons Zachary and Jake, brother John and two grandchildren. Scattering of ashes: 9 a.m. April 2 at Pine Trees. Celebration of life: 1 p.m. at Hawaii Big Game Fishing Clubhouse, Honokohau Harbor. Call 325-7449.
