HAROLD MASAMI NAKAKURA
HAROLD MASAMI NAKAKURA Age 73, of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away peacefully at Nuuanu Hale on March 29, 2011. Born on July 14, 1937 in Honolulu, he was the fifth of six children to Lincoln and Thelma Nakakura. Harold was a 1955 graduate of St. Louis College (High School), St. Mary's College in 1960 and was a teacher at St. Anthony's Boy's School and St. Louis High School. He worked as an estimator at Nakakura Construction, Pan Pacific Construction, Pacific Construction, AC Kobayashi, SteelTech and was the owner of Harold Nakakura Builders. Harold was also a proud and active member of the Hawaii Kai Lions for 17 years where he served two terms as its president. Harold is survived by his beloved wife Sylvia, daughters Jeanine (Keith Miller) Nakakura, Naomi (Ryan) Lorenzo, Tina Mamuad; son Mark (Celise) Nakakura and 7 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by sister Esther Shimazu and survived by sisters Eleanor Iwamoto and Molly Morita; brothers Wilfred and Stanley Nakakura. Visitation 9:00 a.m. Saturday (April 9) at Star of the Sea Church; Service/Mass 10:00 a.m. Casual Attire. No flowers, please.
