FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Charlotte Roselani Marciel Kimi
CHARLOTTE ROSELANI MARCIEL KIMI Of Hilo and recently Honolulu, went home on March 19, 2011 after sharing 86 years with us. She was born in Wailuku, Maui to John Vierra Marciel and Cecelia Lovestead Marciel, and was the 11th of 13 siblings. She was the first wife of the late Richard Kimi, a pioneer hotel developer throughout Hawaii. She was a loving and caring homemaker to her three children; Stephanie Noe-Kimi Buchanan (Alexander) of Kamuela, Alan (Suzie) Kimi of Honolulu, and Patti Kimi-Woodd (Harry) of Honolulu. She was a competitive bowler, an avid card player, an ono-ono creative cook, kept everything around her tidy and neat, and was insistent on being on time because she didn't want others to wait. Her life centered around her children, yet she enjoyed many a festive party to celebrate her Hawaiian heritage. She spent her adult life in Hilo and was very active in Hale o Na Alii o Hawaii, the Daughters of Hawaii, and the Hilo Women's Club. She had a marvelous sense of humor and kept her values of dignity, loyalty and Catholicism dear to her heart. Her independent spirit nurtured a simple life that truly mattered. She is also lovingly survived by her sisters Jeanette Tokunaga of Wahiawa, Peggy Spencer of Ocean Pointe, her brothers David (Jean) Marciel of Kaneohe, and Patrick (Vivian) Marciel of Honolulu; her grandchildren Tricia Ting of Las Vegas, David Ting III of Maui (Maria), Charles (Connie) Kramer of Niu Valley, Melissa (Shawn) Yoshimoto of Manoa, and Paul Kimi of Arizona; and 11 great grand-children. The family especially wishes to thank the kind staff of the Hi'iolani Care Center, at Kahala Nui, for giving Charlotte the absolute finest quality care in her final years. Private services were held in Honolulu on April 02, 2011. All donations will be given to the Alzheimer's Association, Aloha Chapter.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
