Age 51, of Waipahu, Hawaii, passed away March 27, 2011 in Ewa Beach. Born September 3, 1959 in Onenoa, American Samoa. Retired Sergeant First Class United States Army and employed at U.S. Army Garrision, Hawaii, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, & Security (DPTMS) in Schofield Barracks.

He is survived by wife, Tavai Gapelu; daughters, Ashley-Brittney Gapelu, Alexandria Uputaua Gapelu; son, Ryan Tito Gapelu; father, Aumua Ugaitafa; brothers, Otele (Daisy) Gapelu of Lynwood, CA, Jerome Gapelu of Victorville, CA, Iete (Elisapeta) Ugaitafa of Carson, CA, Iata (Isadora) Ugaitafa of Lynwood, CA, Iakopo (Italia) Ugaitafa of Lynwood, CA, Esau (Naomi) Ugaitafa of Carson, CA, Ace Muamua; sister, Tulua Milovale (Fale) Lauago of Lynwood, CA; sister-in-law, Katerina Seuao Gapelu.

Visitation 8:30 a.m. Thursday (April 21) at Waianae Samoan Congregational Church (86-130 Puhawai Rd., Waianae) Funeral Service 10:30 a.m. Committal Service 1:00 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery. Aloha Attire. Flowers Welcome.
