WESLEY H. RICHARDSON

Posted On April 22nd, 2011 - Honolulu Star-Advertiser

WESLEY H. RICHARDSON

Wesley H. Richardson born March 20, 1930 in Stoughton, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was a Champion of a Man to his family, friends, and to all who knew him.
Wes was a member of the legendary Richardson curling team in the early 1960s. Wes along with his cousins Ernie, Arnold, and Sam have received many honors due to their record winning four time Canadian and World Championships. This record has yet to be broken.
A resident of Kailua for 34 years, Wes was the beloved husband of Arlene and father to Kirt (Carol), Kathy (Tracy) Fuchs, Margo Rauliuk, and Gregory Richardson. His grandchildren, Tiana, Nolan, Reed, and Chris, were the light of his life. He also leaves his brother Norman (Irene). Following his retirement from the BHP Refinery & Gas Plant (Tesoro) in 1992, Wes has spent many hours each week volunteering his electrical and maintenance capabilities at Kailua United Methodist Church. As a life long athlete, his first and greatest love was hockey. His other passions were baseball, curling, long distance cycling, and running marathons.
Wes fought prostate cancer for many years and succumbed to this dreadful disease at home on April 16, 2011 with his family by his side.
A celebration of Wes’s life will be held at Kailua United Methodist Church on April 23, 2011. Visitation at 10:00 A.M. Service at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a designated fund to Kailua United Methodist Church or St. Francis Hospice.
