FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

KENNETH KAZUTOSHI MIYAOKA
KENNETH KAZUTOSHI MIYAOKA Age 82, passed away on March 30, 2011, at Kailua Hospice Hawaii. Born on May 14, 1928 in Ah Tai Camp, Wahiawa, he attended Waialae Elementary, Kaimuki Intermediate and graduated from Kaimuki High School in 1946. He worked at a desalinization plant on Eniwetok Atoll in 1956. He also was a veteran of the Korean War. After retiring from Pan Am Airlines as a port steward he worked for Honma Golf Co. as a sales representative. Mr. Miyaoka was inducted into the Hawaii Golf Hall of Fame in 1993. He was a member of the Oahu Country Club from 1973 to present and earned an honorary membership in 1997. In his retirement he enjoyed making nasubi, wonbok and mustard cabbage tsukemono for friends and family. Preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Eiko Miyaoka, he is survived by his sons, Lester Hideo (Bonnie) Miyaoka and Kel Tsutomu (Mavisanne) Miyaoka; sisters, Leatrice Miyaoka and Jane (Howard) Takara; grandchildren, Randy (Lindsey), Haley and Kelianne Miyaoka. Visitation from 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011, followed by service at 4:00 p.m. at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. No flowers. Aloha attire.
