Liberata La‘amaikahiki Ho‘opai Respicio, 88, of Hana, Maui, died in Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Hana. She is survived by sons Joseph Jr., Emerson “Rocky,†Robert and Clifford; daughters Arline Mayo, May Nagata, Jean Phillips and Libby Torres; hanai sons Hiram and Severino “Reno,†hanai daughter Liberata “La‘a,†brother Joseph Ho‘opai; sister Clarice Honda; 36 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Church, Hana. Mass: 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Honokalani Cemetery.
