David Ka‘aumoana McKenney
May 11, 2011 David Ka‘aumoana McKenney, 45, of Honolulu, a Punahou School seventh-grade social studies teacher and a captain and navigator in the Polynesian Voyaging Society who sailed on the Hokule‘a, died in Honolulu. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son Keapomauokamoanamalie, daughter Emmalia K.K., parents Peter and Luanna F., brother G. Hali‘ihau and former wife Roxanna Ching. Visitation: 11 a.m. Sunday at Punahou School Thurston Memorial Chapel. Services: noon. Scattering of ashes: 7:30 a.m. Monday at San Souci Beach, Waikiki. In lieu of flowers and lei, donations suggested to Punahou School or the Polynesian Voyaging Society. Donations for either institution may be sent to Punahou School, 1601 Punahou St., Honolulu, HI 96822.
