RODNEY TAMOTSU YAMASHIRO

Age 89, of Honolulu, passed away on May 7, 2011. Born in Waialua, raised in Kahuku, he retired as a supervisor for the federal government U.S. Army Department of Transportation. He is survived by his wife, Nora Yamashiro; son, Alvin Yamashiro; daughters, Diane Yamashiro and Gail (Malcolm) Onuma; grandchildren, Michelle (Steven) Wong, Allison (Brian) Yamashiro-Ash and Ryan Onuma; great-grandchildren, Miki Onuma, Tanner Wong and Aubrey Yamashiro-Ash and a brother, Matsuo (Clara) Yamashiro.

Mr. Yamashiro served as president of the 442nd Veterans Club (1987-88). He was a member of 232nd Combat Engineer Company, 442nd RCT; Ishikawa Club andYonabaru Club.

Visitation from 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Hosoi Garden Mortuary; memorial service at 4:00 p.m. No flowers. Casual attire.
