HELEN IKUYO OGASAWARA NIKAIDO
Helen Ikuyo Ogasawara Nikaido, age 77, of Monterey Park, California, passed away on Sunday, May 15, at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center. She is survived by her loving husband, Ray "Nik" Nikaido; brothers, Herbert (Frances) Ogasawara and Albert Ogasawara; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends, here and in Hawaii. Helen was born in Honolulu, HI to Mantoku Ogasawara and Teruyo Shibata, and moved to Los Angeles, CA before settling in Monterey Park. Her love and smile will surely be missed, as well as her inviting home and gardens. Los Angeles services were held on May 24, 2011 at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden" with Reverend William Briones of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating. A private scattering of ashes took place at Redondo Beach, CA. Celebration of life services in Hawaii will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011, 12:00 noon at Shinshu Kyokai Mission of Hawaii, 1631 South Beretania St., Honolulu.
