Richard Yuichi "Rugged" Miyakawa, 89, of Honolulu, a retired owner of Miyakawa Nursery and an Army veteran who served with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, Anti-Tank Unit, died in Honolulu. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Kazuko "Katherine"; sons Sidney and Leighton; daughters Gail Chun, Colleen Kim and Diane Louis; brothers Francis and Willie; sisters Mae Otani, Mildred Yamamoto, Doris Stricker and Rosemary Matsuno; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Private services.
