John Wallace Word, 54, of Hanapepe, Kauai, a retired Navy damage controlman chief petty officer, died. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Jonelle C., sons Jason K. and James K., daughter Ericka U. Ramirez, brothers Kenneth and Ross, sisters Leslie and Sydney, and five grandchildren.
