73Santos Castro Batacan, 91, of Honokaa, Hawaii, a retired equipment plant operator at the former Hamakua Sugar Co. and a former ranch hand at Kahua Ranch, died in Hale Hoola Hamakua. He was born in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. He is survived by wife Ernesta; sons Ernest and Cesar; daughters Carmen Kimura, Carlina Vallente, Mary Toledo and Darlene Batacan-Kraan; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Honokaa. Mass: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Honokaa Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire.
