JESSE KUKAHINAHINAULAOKALANI MAKAINAI ALSO KNOWN AS JESSE KUKAHINAHINAWELAULAOKALANI SARMIENTO MAKAINAI SR.

80, of Kaneohe, died August 14, 2011 in Kailua. He was born in Honolulu. Formerly of Kamalo, Molokai. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for 44 years for such companies as, EE Black, Vincent Construction & Morrison-Knudson. He also held a part-time job for 27 years as a Lieutenant of security at the Kailua Drive-In Theater. Jesse was a member of the Royal Order of Kamehameha I, moku ‘O Kuhio Chapter 6.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sophie K; sons, Jesse K. Jr., Sam K., Ernest K. and Clyde K. Makainai; daughters, Beatrice K. Kaonohi and Caroline L. Makainai; 24 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren.

Visitation 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday (08/25) at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kaneohe Stake Center; service 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; burial 2:30 p.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
