Jane was born in Los Angeles, California to Helen and Charles Suhr. She was raised in Beverly Hills, graduated from Marlborough School and attended UCLA. She lived in Beverly Hills until 1971 and then moved to Honolulu with the love of her life and second husband, Herbert Dimmitt, who preceded her in death. They are now reunited.

Jane leaves 6 children, Victoria Strickland (Guy), Garrett Dimmitt (Sue), Richard Porter (Jennifer), Joni Dimmitt (Melinda), Robert Porter (Nancy) and Herbert H. Dimmit (Denise). She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Jane is also survived by her twin sister, Mrs. Thomas Trainer and many nieces and nephews and 2 calabash kids.

She was known to all as “Tutu” or Janee. She had a wonderful love of life, travel and family. These last few years she remained close to home due to health reasons and was grateful for family visits and helpful caregivers.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Marlborough School , 250 South Rossmore, Los Angeles, CA 90004 or to St. Louis School, Development office, (in memory of Jane Dimmitt), 3142 Waialae Avenue, Honolulu 96816.

Virginia Beach- Barbara M. Horton, RN, 64 of Virginia Beach, VA passed away on August 17, 2011 at home after a year and a half battle against cancer. Born December 5, 1946 in Ocala, FL where she graduated from Ocala High School in 1964. She lived in Pearl City, Hawaii from 1970 to 1983 before moving to Virginia Beach, Virginia. Her career as a nurse included working with kidney dialysis patients for more than 27 years. Loving Mother to Ira Horton (Tanya), Parksley, VA and Wendy Goings (Kenneth), Morgantown, West VA. She was a wonderful Grandmother to Angelique and Mya Horton. Survived by one brother Robert Cordrey (Cheryl), Colorado Springs, CO and five sisters Lavetta Brooks and Mildred Van Fleet (Bruce), both of Ocala, FL and Laura Rich and Julia Davis (Richard) both of Silver Springs, FL and Doris Ross, Nashville, TN and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Ernest Cordrey, Christine Cordrey Beedle and her step-father Ralph W. Beedle and one sister Sandra Skeen. Memorial Service will be held at Kings Grant Baptist Church, 873 Little Neck Road, Virginia Beach, VA on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 7:00 pm. Pastor Stanley “Skip” Wallace will be officiating.
