EUGENE KWAI YUEN CHING

Eugene Kwai Yuen Ching lived a beautiful life for 93 years. He saw so many changes during that time and he was ready to move to the mansion the Lord had prepared for him. As a young boy, he lived and played in Waikiki where his father had a cottage complex on Beach Walk. He was married to Mable C.S. Chang for 26 years and Tomi Ching for 35 years. An officer and veteran of World War II, he worked for and retired from the State of Hawaii Dept of Health in 1972. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed meeting new friends from all over the world, playing bridge and mahjong. He was the oldest member of 24 hour fitness where he enjoyed exercising and meeting new friends. His motto was, “health is wealth”. He is survived by: his daughter, Emily Chang; his son, Christopher (Roxanna) Ching; six grandchildren; and six great grand children. He will have a military burial and funeral service at the National Veterans’ Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl on September 6, 2011 at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
