74Violet Thelma Gardner, 95, of Hilo, a retired nurse, died in Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. She was born in Pittsfield, Mass. She is survived by son Michael J., daughter Elizabeth Nekoba, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services: 5 p.m. today at the First United Protestant Church, 1350 Waianuenue Ave., Hilo. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to the Gardner Memorial Piano Fund at the First United Protestant Church.
