PATRICIA JUNE (ANTHONY) EKSTRAND
82, passed away peacefully at her home in Honolulu, August 31, 2011. Patricia was a native of California and came to Hawaii in 1951 where she met and married the love of her life, Thad Wayne Ekstrand. She spent 22 happy years teaching art at Hanahauoli School before retiring and pursuing her career as a professional artist. She received recognition from the community for her work as an educator as well as for her watercolors and lithographs.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Tina Whitney (Nathan), two granddaughters, Ysabel and Rachel Whitney, as well as her sister, Mrs. Shirley Swasey.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 23rd, at the Outrigger Canoe Club at 8am. Scattering of ashes to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hanahauoli School at 1922 Makiki Street, Honolulu, HI 96822
