Nicanor Duarte "Nick" Pugay Sr., 90, of Waipahu, a retired Tripler Hospital mess foreman and a Navy veteran, died in Honolulu. He was born in Rosario, Cavite, Philippines. He is survived by wife Cecilia U.; sons Nicanor A., Virgilio A., Nicanor L., Edward L. and Nicanor D. Pugay, and Dominic Gaballo; daughters Emelda A. Profeta, Estalita P. Ishikawa, Erlinda L. and Cecilia D. Pugay, Caroline U. Brown, Mary D. Kawainui, Dorothy T. Pugay-Correa, Rose S. Pa and Theresa Gaballo-Oliva; 42 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
