Former representative in the Hawaii State House of Representatives, died last Friday at the age of 76 after a long illness. Lisa was born in Brooklyn, NY and arrived in Hawaii after touring the world as a jazz singer. With a strong interest and passion for protecting the rights of others, especially women, she ran for office and was elected twice during the mid 70s. She went on to head the Hawaii Decennial Census and continued her work in public service as a social worker with the Corrections and Child Protective Service departments. In retirement, she remained eager for adventure and continued to travel.
Lisa is survived by her children Clay Naito (Jenna), Yonatan Bar Rashi (Daniela), Lorelei Yrizarry (Nelson), and four grandchildren.
Service to be held at Mililani Memorial Park, Makai Chapel on Tuesday, (Sept 27) at 6:30 p.m. Aloha attire.
