EMILY CHARLOTTE TOM YOUNG
Age 84, passed away peacefully at home early Friday morning, September 30. She was born in Waikapu, Maui, and graduated from Maui High School and Colorado State College of Education. She received her teaching certificate from the University of Hawaii and was an elementary-school teacher for 29 years, ending her career at Kapalama Elementary School.
Emily is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Donald H. B. Young; children Glenn Young (Merryl), Lorie Young, Bruce Young, and Keith Young (Amy); 5 grandchildren; and sister Lillian Chou.
Viewing (9:15 - 10:15 a.m.) and burial (10:30 a.m.) at Diamond Head Memorial Park; visitation (noon to 1 p.m.) and memorial service (1 p.m.) at the Community Church of Honolulu on Friday, October 14. Casual attire. No flowers, please. In lieu of offerings, please send a contribution to the American Cancer Society.
