Dorothy Mae O’Leary, 91, of San Clemente California, died peacefully at the Pohai Nani Care Center in Kaneohe. Dorothy moved to Hawaii after the death of her husband Alfred, in order to be near her three children, all longtime residents of the Islands. Born in North Bend, Nebraska, in a farmhouse which lacked electricity, she lived through a century of great change and conflict. The family would like to thank the caring and professional staff of Pohai Nani for everything they did for our mother during her four-year stay there.
Dorothy is survived by daughter Patricia Anderson, sons Kevin (Lynne) O’Leary and Thomas (Lisa) O’Leary, granddaughter Eva Anderson, and great-grandson Jushin Jack Jack Terada.
A private ceremony is planned on the Big Island.
