Daniel Takeru Shigeta, 82, of Kahului, a retiree of the University of Hawaii Cooperative Extension Service and Agricultural Experiment Station on Maui, died in Kahului. He also was a retired major in the Army Reserve. He was born in Halaula, Kohala, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Grace E.; sons Glenn S., Paul Y. and Craig T.; sister Minnie Matsumoto; and three grandchildren. Burial: 10:30 a.m. Monday at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. Additional information for an obituary published Aug. 26.
