Age age 87, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on September 26, 2011. Clint was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Kanekoa Irvine and Annie Julia Kanamu Guerrero Irvine and brothers Koa, Alan, Sonny and “Dickey Boy” Irvine and survived by his soulmate and wife of 63 years Eva Irvine; sons Clinton “Butch” Irvine, Jr, Kenneth H. Irvine, L. Keith (Cookie) Irvine and daughter Kathleen Irvine (Clifford) Corpuz; and Papa to grandchildren Kehaulani Camara Bailey, L. Kelii Irvine, Arthur “Kaleo” (Yukari) Camara, Melissa Irvine (Christopher) Henderson, Kristina Camara (Rey) Sacro, Kalani Irvine and Shawna Irvine; 10 great and 1 great great grandchild; brothers Douglas (Olga), Ralph, Oswald (Charla) and Anthony Irvine; sisters: Winona Rapoza, Mildred Morte, Dorothy Napoleon, Kehaulani Ke’a, Juanita Irvine, sisters-in-law Takako Irvine and Truda Irvine.

Clinton graduated from Saint Louis College, Class of 1942 and remained an active alumnus throughout his life. He served as a Merchant Seaman during World War II and wed Eva Castro in 1948 at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, Kaimuki. Clint’s occupation following the War was as a Refrigeration Mechanic for Dairymen’s, owned his own small business, “Clint’s Refrigeration,” and joined the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, Shop 56, as a journeyman, instructor, and supervisor until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of UA, Local 811 until his death.

He loved and was an avid golfer. Clint will always be remembered as a gentleman, living his life with dignity, integrity, honesty, and humor. He worked hard and strove for excellence, led by example; was always warm, loving and positive and had a profound effect on many. He was a man of faith and strength and loved the Lord. He was and will remain a role model for all of us. Mahalo to St. Francis Hospice West for their loving care and a special thanks to our Angel Caregiver, Darlene.

Visitation on Wednesday, Oct 19, 9:30 am; St Pius X Church, Manoa; Mass at 11:00 am, Lunch to follow at 12:00. Burial at 2:00 pm, Hawaiian Memorial Park.

Clarence Lopes, 87, of Redmond, WA. formerly of Honolulu, passed away in Bellevue, Wa. He was born and raised in Nuuanu and was the son of the late John and Sylvia Lopes. A veteran of the U.S. Army he served in World War II in Guadalcanal.

Clarence was an entrepreneur of his time, the former owner of several businesses in his lifetime, Elbow Room, Sierra Madre, Cadillac Cab and Aloha Ambulance. He is survived by his wife Norma “Hale” Lopes of Redmond, WA., son Dennis Lopes of Las Vegas, NV, daughters Marvalee Bustillos of San Francisco, CA., Jennifer Perreira of Maui, and Maria Lopes of Olympia, WA.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at St. Stephens Catholic Church, Nuuanu on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, visitation from 10:00 am, Mass at 11:00 am. Internment to follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl at 1:00 pm. The family requests no flowers.
