Age 63, of Waipahu, Hawaii, passed away October 9, 2011 in Honolulu. Born September 15, 1948 in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Retired from Hilton Hawaiian Village. Member of United Bacarreneous of Hawaii.

He is survived by wife, Petra P. Bagcal; sister, Dominica Bagcal of Philippines; brothers, Florentino (Shirley) Bagcal, Salvador Bagcal of Philippines; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews.

Horace Sadao Kanno, Jr

HORACE SADAO KANNO, JR

Formerly from Oahu. On October 8, 2011, passed away at age 82 in Gig Harbor, WA. After military service during the Korean Conflict he went to work as a firefighter at Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu and rose to assistant fire chief. During those years he raised a family and lead the well-known quartet: The Four Part Hawaiians.
Following his retirement, Horace went on to become the first paid fire chief of the Key Peninsula-PCFPD #16. After 36 years of service to his communities, Horace finally retired in 1994.
Horace leaves behind his wife, Anne Marie; children Darelyn Moana Arter, Keith, Michael and Robert Kele; their spouses; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister Phyllis Matsuda; brother Kawika: many nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Saturday, October 22nd at the Haven of Rest Chapel, W, Gig Harbor. Scattering of ashes on Oahu May 2012.

TERI NAKATA KIM

TERI NAKATA KIM

Teri passed away last October after a long illness and requested that no official notice be posted at the time of her death. Teri was born in Okinawa in 1933 and moved to Hawaii in 1954 with her husband Joseph S.K. Kim of Honolulu. Teri worked at Nalii Fashions, Malia of Hawaii, and Duty Free Shops before her retirement. Prior to her illness and after over 50 years, Teri was able to reunite with her family during a visit to Okinawa. She is survived by her son Rodney of Honolulu and her daughter Cynthia Banuelos (Tino) of California and grandson Andrew Kim Banuelos.
