Raymond Harold Amaral Sr., 85, of Hilo, a retiree from the former Mauna Kea Sugar Co. and an Army veteran who served in World War II, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Wainaku, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Dioscora “Josie”; sons Raymond Jr. and William; daughters Geraldine Sagon and Judy Swietzer; former wife Emily; brothers Charles, Herbert, Richard, Reginald and Franklin; three grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; two great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren. Visitation: 6 p.m. Tuesday at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Services: 7 p.m. Additional visitation: 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo. Mass: 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
